Early Years Parental Involvement

At Merlin Top Early Years Unit we welcome parental involvement.

At Merlin Top early year's unit, we aim to create highly effective partnerships with our parents which leads to improvement in the outcomes for children and their families.

Parents and families are always made welcome in our early years unit, parents are invited into the nursery room at drop off and pick up times. We also encourage parents to contact us if they have any particular concerns. Should you wish to speak to your child's class teacher please see her after school, making an appointment if necessary.

As part of our early year's commitment to working alongside our parents, At Merlin Top early years' we run weekly nursery parent story sessions and fortnightly baking sessions. Parents join us in the nursery for a 'end of day' story and nursery rhyme session with the children. We also hold fortnightly baking sessions with our parents, the parents alongside their children bake a variety of healthy foods and cakes.

The emphasis of the story sessions is to have a love of reading, telling and acting out stories.
