Tournaments at Merlin Top

At school there are many opportunities for our children to access competitive sport, either against children in their own school or against children from other schools. These include:

Oakbank Sports Partnership

We have a yearly subscription with Oakbank School who have a full timetable of events that we compete in.

Working in partnership with Riddlesden St Mary's primary school

WE are now into our third year working with Riddlesden and have a full timetable of different sporting activities throughout the year. Every Tuesday children from Merlin Top travel to Riddlesden to compete in different sporting competitions against children from their school.

Merlin Top Tournaments

Every half term we host a football tournament at our school that is attended by children from Keighley St Andrews, Our Lady of Victories and St Anne's primary schools.

Below is a picture of our recent year 4 girls tournament.

P.E Tournaments

In P.E lessons we work on at least one different sport each half term to enable the children to fully understand the sport and develop their skills. At the end of the half term the children will have a tournament against each other during their P.E. lesson. This will enable them to work on the skills they have developed in a competitive environment.

There is a wide variety of different sporting activities to access and our target is that every child will get to compete against children from other schools at least once during their time spent at Merlin Top. See the attached timetables for all the tournaments on offer throughout the school year.
